We really can do better and there are some good news stories out there that can give us hope. Progress on many fronts is already occurring. For example, the price of solar modules has plummeted 99% since the 1970s thanks to forward thinking research, public policy and increasing demand.

New economic frameworks are now being seriously debated regarding the performance of an economy in terms of the extent to which the needs of people are met without overshooting Earth’s ecological ceiling.
